Lance Armstrong Should Lose
Once upon a time, I liked Lance Armstrong. Liked him as a person that I really know nothing about other than through his book It's Not About the Bike. I admired his grace, dignity, fight spirit, sense of teamwork, love for his family...
When he retired, I silently wished him well and hoped he would be unique among today's athletes...that he wouldn't stage a "come back."
Then he went and shot all my admiration to hell. Four years after retiring, he returned to racing. He was cocky saying something to the effect of "this will be easy!" As if returning to racing was bad enough, he had to be big-headed about it.
*sighs*
So, I'm left with evil thoughts: I want him to lose. My biggest question is how badly should he lose? Which is worse, losing by a fraction of a second or crashing out? Also, I'm devilishly gleeful that he ate crow in public saying his comeback is a lot harder than he expected.
Lance, you had your glory. You had your more than 15 minutes of fame. Give over to the men that have been fighting, training, and bleeding for the past four years.
